How do I conduct this study?
Step1: I find the 10 most popular AI content detector
I get them by just searching on Google, “free AI content detector”, and getting the first 10 tools.
Step 2: I generate 3 texts
- AI text: I create this one with chatGPT by just typing “create a text about “what is an AI content detector””. This text contains 176 words 1,285 characters
- AI + Human text: I create this one by adding some Human sentence to the AI text. This text contains 233 words 1,463 characters
- Human text: I create this one by myself. This text contains 165 words 939 characters
Step 3: I test the 3 texts on each AI content detector
I report the result on the table.
Step 4: I analyse the result
- For the AI text: I estimate that the right answer should detect between 75% and 100% AI generated content
- For the AI + human text: I estimate that the right answer should detect between 35% and 70% AI generated content
- For the human text: I estimate that the right answer should detect between 0% and 25% AI generated content
Disclaimer
I just conduct this study with 3 texts, to get a better result it will be better to test with 1000 texts.
So the result can give an idea on the content detector tool, but the result may highly vary on different text.
